Sunlight Studios is a 24 track digital recording studio built to industry standard specifications to meet the needs of local musicians and the local communities alike.

Why a recording studio in the Sunlight Centre?
Music is a great medium for engaging people who would otherwise miss out on opportunities to express themselves, improve confidence and social skills. Alongside this Medway has always been a thriving hub for music! And so we embarked on our journey of setting up our own music studio....
History
Before the studio was here, the sunlight centre accommodated a lot of bands needing rehearsal space. Naturally, the noise issues helped us quickly to ensure adequate soundproofing for the studio.
As everything we do here, we wanted to do it properly so in 2005 we managed to secure funding to build an industry standard recording studio and radio studio (find out more about radio sunlight here).
The aim was not only to provide rehearsal space but a recording facility to which would capture the many talents of Medway and beyond in a professionally set up studio.
Alongside all this we would be able to offer fantastic opportunities to the local community such as training in recording and other music related subjects within a professional space, thus making this studio a truly unique facility for the area.
Since its opening the studio has seen acts of pretty much every genre and age - from young MCs moving the ranks through indie, rock and alternative up and coming bands to original jazzers still swinging the scene.
Training Opportunities
We also continually fulfil requests for training placements and workshops at the studio. These have included local schools, young offenders, adults with learning disabilities and many other people who constantly battle with inaccessibility in society, and all of whom get to experience a real recording studio.
