Course Information
The course, also known as “Families going forward” is a resource programme to train and equip outreach workers in children’s centre's to come alongside families to support, empower and enable them to achieve positive outcomes for their children.
The training will:
Helps outreach workers to support families to re-find their hopes and aspirations and goal set in small steps as to how they might go forward towards them.
Helps outreach workers to come alongside families in partnership providing pathways for practical and professional resourcing.
Helps outreach workers to build on family strengths and appreciates and uses the family, friendship and community network that is already in place.
The course will be delivered in the context of outreach and will include:
The underlying principles of family support
The partnership model of working
Strengths and evidence-based practice
Principles and values underpinning the Work with Parents National Occupational Standards
Key elements of positive communication.
