Recording

We can record up to 24 tracks simultaneously and from here we can keep layering until your heart’s content. We realise that everyone likes to do things in their own way and therefore every recording project can be different. It’s usually good idea to have a chat about the project before you come in to make sure we've got everything you need and to make the session run as smoothly as possible.

This could be discussing layered vs live recording, arranging day session times (usually around 10am - 6pm), extra instruments or perhaps it’s your first studio day and you want to know more about what’s involved.

Our spacious live room is flexible enough to accommodate any setup from vocalist to 10-piece band. If you wanna really max out we have access to a hall within the building too which can be linked to the studio. No matter what the session we’ll always look to combine a relaxed working environment with economical time keeping to ensure the best performance and product at the end of the session.

Mixing and Editing

If you’re looking for short session or demo day then we will include mixing time within the day so please allow time for this when booking. Otherwise, mixing time can be arranged separately when booking. Just as with recording, the more time you can afford to put in to mixing the better the end result and where possible we always find it best to mix on a separate day to recording. For longer or multiple sessions we would again approach it as a separate session.

If you have an existing recording which needs to be presented in a more professional manner, we can arrange specific sessions for mixing and mastering at the usual rate.

Mastering

Mastering is the end process for your recording, which gives it the professional and unique sound needed to realise its full potential and hopefully stand out from other recordings.

As part of any recordings made here at Sunlight, we would again include mastering time at the end of the session, which may be within the mixing time for shorter sessions or a whole day for longer/multiple sessions.

Just as with mixing, we would prefer to perform this on a separate day to recording. We can also provide mastering services for any mixed music you have, be it a home recording or a demo from another studio. If you’d like to send us a mixdown for mastering you can drop your music in by post, email or by person. Have a look at the contact us page for details .
