Sunlight Dementia Café and Carers Support Group

Sunlight Dementia Café and Carers’ Support Group offers a gentle, welcoming space where people living with dementia can stay socially connected, reducing isolation and lifting mood. It gives caregivers a chance to breathe, share experiences, and feel understood by others facing similar challenges. The café creates a community of reassurance, routine, and warmth that supports emotional wellbeing for everyone involved. It also acts as a bridge to advice, services, and practical support that can make daily life feel a little lighter.

The group meets every Wednesday between 1pm and 3pm. Come along to make new friends, get support and advice from people who understand and are willing to listen all over a lovely cup of tea. Meet the dementia therapy cat and our Parish Nurse who regularly attend the sessions, and enjoy a lovely singalong!

If you would like to get involved in volunteering or sponsor a tea dance call 01634 581511 or email Sunlight Dementia Support Cafe for more details..

Praise for the Sunlight Dementia Support Café

Our Mum participated in activities at the centre for those with dementia care needs. It provided a vibrant and inclusive space for her to participate in activities that stimulated her. We found this to be an excellent way to allow her a change in environment and the chance to engage with others who similarly were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Dementia. Our family member who attended also found the activities and events to be a great opportunity to get advice and guidance to other dementia support systems. adult children of service user
