New Live Well Kent & Medway programs for 2022 funded by Shaw Trust

Subject to Covid protections, in March 2022 Sunlight Centre will be hosting four new 12 week wellbeing courses

The four courses are Men’s Health, Growing Vegetables in Pots, Gardening for Fun and Community Radio Production and Presenting

Run by men for men, Men’s Health will provide an opportunity for men to talk together about all aspects of male health and mental health, empowering them to identify issues of importance and interest Beneficiaries will support each other to access information and advice from reputable sources, including specialist resources for men.

Beneficiaries of Growing Vegetables in Pots will learn to grow and care for plants and vegetables in pots and containers (indoor or outdoor) and to harvest the produce.

Gardening for Fun is a social support group that enables participants to get involved in communal gardening activities, supporting all aspects of the management of a community garden for community benefit, all while benefitting from the therapeutic effects of involvement in gardening and connecting with nature.

Producing and Presenting Community Radio will give beneficiaries an understanding of the aims and values associated with community radio and the steps involved in the production and presentation of radio shows. They will learn about radio production equipment including studio desk, IT, & software, legal obligations. They will also produce and present a group-based wellbeing radio show which will be aired live during the course.

All four are Live Well Kent & Medway programs, fully funded by Shaw Trust and delivered by Sunlight Development Trust.
